Who We Are

Killymurris is made up of many ordinary people from many different walks of life but with a shared love for Jesus and what he has done for us.

At Killymurris we are part of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland (PCI) and as such we are governed in a certain way. We organise ourselves based on eldership - within our congregation we have a teaching elder (the minister) and ruling elders  (who have been elected by the congregation).  Together, the elders make up 'Kirk Session' who are responsible for all spiritual matters within the church. Within Killymurris there are currently 13 ruling elders serving alongside our minister and teaching elder, Rev. Roland Watt.

Each presbyterian church is a member of a grouping of the local presbyterian churches known as 'presbytery'.  Killymurris is one of 31 churches who are members of the Ballymena Presbytery and who, along with all the other member churches, send an elder to represent them at presbytery meetings.

Elders from the 19 presbyteries make up the General Assembly - the supreme governing body of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
