On Saturday 5th November a commemoration day was held at Killymurris to mark the centenary of World War 1 and the Battle of the Somme.  There were a number of exhibitions - a display of military memorabilia, an exhibit from the Somme Heritage Centre detailing the 36th Ulster Division and an exhibition on the local connections with World War 1.  The ladies from 'War on Want' put on a fantastic fashion show of clothes from the era and everyone had the opportunity to make a poppy for a special display in the church on Remembrance Sunday. The vehicle display was enjoyed by everyone, young and old and our Girls' Brigade provided a sumptious vintage style tea which was very well supported.  Thanks to everyone involved and to all those who took time to attend and join with us in our commemoration event.  Please click on any of the photos below for an enlarged view.
