1. Registration of Plots
1.1 New burial plots are provided for purchase by registered members of Killymurris Presbyterian Church only.
1.2 When a burial plot in the New Graveyard has been acquired for burial it shall be registered in one name only and a registration certificate issued on payment of the prescribed fee. The Plot numbers will be issued at the date of the first interment.
1.3 The registration certificate should be retained and produced when required as proof of right of interment when a grave is being opened or memorials erected or for any other reason specified by the Congregational Committee.
1.4 Right of interment remains with the family registered and possessing the registration certificate containing the family name and matching the church record. In all circumstances the burial plot must be registered in the name of a family member.
1.5 Proof of the right of interment will reside with the recorded registration certificate holder and changes to family name (i.e. after each generation) should be agreed by the family in writing and confirmed with the Congregational Committee.
1.6 The Congregational Committee’s record of plot registration will be regarded as final proof of right of interment. Any claim of a change of the right of interment will only be recognized or considered where the Congregational Committee has been notified in writing and the written request has been accompanied by the existing registration certificate.
1.7 All queries regarding burial plots must be made in writing. The Congregational Committee will not consider oral submissions as a written record guarantees the fairness and transparency of all requests.
