3. Erection of Memorials
3.1 Requests for permission to erect or place a headstone or surround must be made, in writing, to the Congregational Committee. NO SURROUNDS WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE NEW GRAVEYARD, WHERE PROVISION HAS BEEN MADE FOR HEADSTONES (INCLUDED IN THE COST OF A NEW BURIAL PLOT).
3.2 Grave plot owners MUST submit detailed plans, including inscriptions in writing (with payment) to a Convenor of the Graveyard Sub-Committee for approval before permission for the commencement of work may be obtained.
3.3 Memorials to be erected must have regard to the adjoining graves and the positioning shall be determined by the Congregational Committee prior to the erection. Therefore under no circumstances is work to commence prior to receiving written permission from the Congregational Committee.
3.4 In circumstances where rule 3.3 is not adhered to, the Congregational Committee will be within its rights to order the removal of unapproved inscriptions, surrounds or foundations which will be at the expense of the registered plot holder as determined under rules 1.3-1.6.
3.5 All such memorials shall be built/placed on proper foundations sunk below the ground sufficiently to avoid obstruction of grass cutting.
3.6 Any additional markings shall be subject to Graveyard Sub-Committee approval.
3.7 The Congregational Committee will not be responsible for any loss or damage to memorials, or mementoes placed at or upon the graves.
